New American Horror Story: Hotel Promo Reveals Max Greenfield to be the Monster Under Our Beds

American Horror Story returns on October 7 with what might be the creepiest season ever

Once again (and not for the last time), we must break out our favorite New Girl-related exclamation: Holy. Schmidt.

Max Greenfield just showed up for half a split second in the newest promo for American Horror Story: Hotel, and he's nearly unrecognizable in his role of "creepy guy under the bed."

We have been loving/mildly hating all the bed and mattress imagery used to promote this season, and this is no exception. Why is Max Greenfield screaming under the bed that Wes Bentley is lying on? Is Max Greenfield the monster under all our beds? Should we be scared of Max Greenfield, or just no longer scared of the thing under our bed?

These are the questions that are starting to haunt us as we get ever closer to the premiere of what is already our favorite season of AHS, mostly thanks to the presence of Gaga and our love of art deco architecture.

FX

The promo aired during tonight's epic episode of Fox's Scream Queens, which (in case you hadn't yet heard) is also produced by Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan, and Brad Falchuk.

This season looks totally horrible and also totally amazing, with a cast that we can't get over: Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Finn Wittrock, Lily Rabe, Chloe Sevigny, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Denis O'Hare, Naomi Campbell, Emma Roberts, Darren Criss, Bentley, Gaga, Greenfield, and more.

We're already terrified and we're already in love, and we're already stocking up on blankets/friends/furniture to hide behind when things get really out of control, which you know they will.

American Horror Story: Hotel debuts October 7 on FX.
