Millions of Americans are stepping outside Sunday night in hopes of capturing the "supermoon" lunar eclipse.

The rare phenomenon, which hasn't happened in 33 years and won't occur again until 2033, will take place over a four-hour period and feature several stages. The darkened moon is expected to appear red during the middle of the event.
