The comedian is fresh off the Best Summer Ever—full of late-night talk show debauchery, a blockbuster movie and jet ski rides with Jennifer Lawrence. We thought it was impossible to one-up vacas with JLawr, but it seems she just did. That's because Amy Schumer just had the Best Emmys Ever.
It's not that surprising, of course, given the path her career has been taking lately. She's kind of doing everything right. She reigned over tonight's awards show like a true queen and we've got the evidence to prove it. It all started with the transportation. Yes, the transportation. Did you think that she wouldn't fly private to the festivities?
Then she gave her adoring fans an extra special sneak peek at her Emmys look. You fab, girl.
Once she arrived at the show, she went absolutely ham on the red carpet. She met her ultimate girl crush Tatiana Maslany. She got to slip in a joke about putting out for Billy Joel. She danced with Colin Hanks. And most importantly, she got to lovingly stroke Ryan Seacrest.
That red carpet alone would have been enough to dub this one of the best nights of her life, but we all know this is really about the telecast. She kicked things off by getting a mention in Andy Samburg's monologue, which is basically a sign that you have made it. But then she got to present the first award alongside Amy Poehler and we forgot all about that silly little speech. And of course, we have to give a slow clap for that awesome quip: "Tonight is about celebrating women in TV and letting the Internet weigh in on who looks the worst." Preach, Amy(s).
We would be remiss if we didn't mention the teeny tiny caveat that she did actually lose one teeny tiny award, but she lost to the Daily Show team so it doesn't even count. Oh, and she kind of won the biggest award she was nominated for.
Amy's acceptance speech was everything we thought it would be and oh so perfectly Amy. Like when she said that Inside Amy Schumer got made because her friend got drunk. Or when she thanked "The girl who gave me sort of a smoky eye." Boom.
But while all of that is, like, super great, there was one part of Amy's Emmys evening that was just the icing on her awesome cake. A moment that was so spectacular that she'll probably never be able to live up to it again. That's right, we're talking about the time that she received a good luck wish from Countess Luann. Amy out.
