AKM-GSIKim Richards celebrated her 51st birthday with her kids and her sister and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Kyle Richards, following months of personal turmoil, which included tension between the two as well as time in rehab and two arrests.
In January, Kyle, 46, had told E! News that her relationship with Kim was "not great right now, but sisters do go through difficult times." In July, a source told E! News that two were still not speaking to each other. Kim and Kyle posted on their Instagram pages on Saturday photos of the two sitting together, with Kyle's hand resting on her sister's shoulder. They had gone to dinner with Kim's daughters and son-in-law at the steak and seafood restaurant Ocean Prime in Beverly Hills.
"Spent some fun quality❤ time with my sister @kylerichards18...Life is Good," Kim wrote.
"Right here, right now @kimrichards11 it's your birthday sister!!!" Kyle said.
Kim is wearing the same outfit in another photo showing her sitting with her daughters, Whitney Davis and Brooke Wiederhorn and the latter's husband, Thayer Wiederhorn, at an outdoor table full of drinks. It is unclear if alcohol was served.
"Such a great Birthday," Kim wrote. "I am completely blessed!!"
Kyle also shared a sweet throwback photo of her and Kim.
"Happy birthday @kimrichards11 May all your birthday wishes come true," she wrote. "Love you."
Kim has been battling alcohol addiction and underwent rehab over the summer. In April, she was arrested at the Beverly Hills Hotel and charged with public intoxication, resisting, obstructing or delaying a peace officer or EMT, and battery upon a peace officer. She pleaded no contest to resisting arrest and was given probation and community labor.
She and Kyle spoke to TMZ while leaving the restaurant. Kim was asked if she was nervous about her community service.
"She's got this," Kyle replied. "She's got this."
In August, Kim was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at a Target. She has not commented about the case. Days later, Kim was hospitalized briefly and then released.
Earlier this month, Kim returned to Twitter after a social media hiatus.
"Still sober?" a fan asked her, to which she replied, "Yes I am."
Kim's ex Monty Brinson, her first husband and Brooke's father, also posted on his page a throwback pic of the two kissing and a sweet message.
"Wishing @kimrichards11 a beautiful birthday today, with all your wishes for today and the future come through," he wrote. "It's been a rough year for you my friend but I'm so proud of you how far you have come through this journey. I see all this brightness and happiness in your life ahead of you. You know in your heart I will always be there for you whether I'm here or some place far away."
