We've been waiting to hear what Tom Brady has to say about his good pal Donald Trump running for president, and we finally got it!

During a press conference earlier today, reporters noticed the Patriots' quarterback keeps a Trump campaign "Make America Great Again" hat in his locker and asked if Brady had talked to him or gave him any advice for the upcoming debate tonight.

"Um, no," Brady answered with a smile. "That was a nice keepsake. It was a nice piece of memorabilia he sent me."

The two have been friends since 2002 and frequently spend time together, often hitting the golf course. But does Gisele Bündchen's hubby actually think the controversial candidate has what it takes to be the president?

"I hope so. It would be great," he says, somewhat avoiding the question before joking, "There'd be a putting green on the White House lawn, I'm sure of that!"

Though Brady didn't necessarily say "I'm voting for Trump," the presidential hopeful caught wind of his comments, taking to Twitter to respond: "A great honor from someone that knows how to win!"

Meanwhile, Brady is in much higher spirits these days after a federal judge tossed his Deflategate suspension.

The quarterback was supposed to miss the first four games of the season without pay, which the NFL had issued after concluding that he was part of an alleged scheme to under-inflate footballs used in the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts in January.

However, Brady denied and involvement, saying there was "zero evidence." Judge Richard M. Berman agreed, overturning the suspension and ruling that the collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and the players' union did not give Commissioner Roger Goodell the authority to carry it out.

Thus, Brady took the field on Thursday last week and led the Patriots to their first victory of the season in a 28-21 lead over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
