Rest assured: the ladies of The View love nurses.

After Twitter erupted into a fury of backlash on Tuesday following the co-hosts comments about Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson's nurse monologue at the Miss America pageant, the ladies on the panel, including Michelle Collins, Joy Behar, Raven-Symoné, Paula Faris and Whoopi Goldberg addressed the criticism on Wednesday morning.

"I want to say, we love nurses, if you're watching, we adore you, respect you. Clap for the nurses," Collins said after the hashtag #NursesUnite went viral on Tuesday. "You are wonderful and the most compassionate people."

Collins continued, saying her remarks were "misconstrued."

"By the way, if your bosses are watching, you all deserve raises," she said. "This is how much I love nurses. Give them more money. Take my money. Okay?"

Behar, meanwhile, who faced backlash for asking why Johnson was wearing a "doctor's stethoscope" during her monologue, said she was simply "not paying attention."

"I was looking at a Miss America tape and there's a woman wearing like an outfit," Behar said. "And I'm thinking, 'Is she in costume?' I didn't know she was a nurse. I'm used to seeing them in gowns and bathing suits. It is not like I was trying to be funny. It was stupid and inattentive on my part."

She added: "My son-in-law is a physician assistant. One of my nieces is a nurse. So, I mean they use stethoscopes. I was just not paying attention."

On Tuesday, Collins called Johnson's monologue "hilarious" and said she "basically read her emails out loud."

"Why does she have a doctor's stethoscope on?" Behar asked before Collins clarified, "She helps patients with Alzheimer's, which I know is not funny, but I swear you had to see it."
