This Labor Day Weekend, Bindi Irwin paid tribute to her late father, Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter.

The 17-year-old took to Instagram on Sunday to post a heartwarming message, almost nine years to the day of his death, alongside a pic of her dad doing one of his favorite things—hanging out with a crocodile.

"Thinking about home today," she wrote. "Father's Day is today in Australia and everyone is celebrating at Australia Zoo. It's such a special time of year, I hope everyone who comes to the zoo today is able to enjoy it with our gorgeous animals."

"No matter where I am in the world, this day means such a lot to me," she said. "My heart forever lives @AustraliaZoo—just like Dad's always did."

Bindi was 8 years old when Steve died age 44 on Sept. 4, 2006 after being stabbed in the chest by a stingray barb while shooting a wildlife documentary. A beloved reality TV personality, he was considered by many in the family's native Australia to be a national hero and his death was mourned by millions of Crocodile Hunter fans worldwide.

Bindi had spoken at a memorial service for her father at the Australia Zoo, her family's wildlife park and home, two weeks after his death. The zoo marks Steve Irwin Day on Nov. 15.

"After losing Dad, there was the idea that none of us have forever," she told Sunday Style, which featured her on its cover last month. "It really affects you. It makes you want to live each day as if it's your last."

Bindi is the eldest of Steve and Terri Irwin's two children and has captured media attention since she starred with them on the show in the '90s and early '00s. You watch her compete on Dancing With the Stars' 21st season when it premieres on ABC on Sept. 14.

She is paired up with pro dancer and fan favorite Derek Hough and was spotted heading to dance rehearsal recently to work on their routine.

While he teaches the teen how to dance, she's teaching him how to speak Australian.

It's official #TeamCrikey ?? @derekhough doing an absolutely fantastic Aussie accent! I'm so proud!
