Kanye West's VMAs Speech Actually Makes a Great Seinfeld Intro

Now this is funny.

Now this is the kind of Kanye West speech we like.

Nothing against his tirade-slash-stream-of-consciousness-slash-campaign-announcement, of course. We actually got a huge kick out of the whole thing—we love Kanye for those exact moments, and he actually had some decent points to make in between all the rambling and bruhs. But these versions we just found are a pretty good alternative.

You may have noticed that the cadence of Yeezy's performance was a little different than your typical speech. Most would liken it to the rhythm he uses when he raps, but some people also noticed that he sounded an awful lot like a stand-up comedian—minus the fact that he wasn't actually trying to make jokes. But nevertheless, YouTuber David Elmaleh decided to cut his most ridiculous lines and add a laugh track in the background. The result? A spot-on stand-up routine.

Not to be outdone, the Twitter account @Seinfeld2000 realized that sure, Kanye's speech kind of sounded like a comedy show, but what it really sounded like was a Seinfeld comedy show—the bit that Jerry performs at the beginning of each episode, to be exact. They took a 30-second clip of Yeezy and added the laugh track and the Seinfeld theme song. If you close your eyes, it's almost like you're watching Jerry himself complain about not understanding...well, anything.

We're not sure how Kanye would feel about people making light of his super serious reflection on life and art and music and all, but to the non-creative geniuses out there it's pretty funny. Maybe if he smokes some more of whatever he enjoyed before the VMAs he could get a few laughs.
