Time to get seriously excited for season two of Gotham

Fox just released a new teaser featuring Cameron Monaghan as...Jerome, the guy who is totally not in any way definitely also the Joker, as he introduces himself to new inmate Barbara (Erin Richards) and tries to give her some advice.

Say what? Yep, Jim Gordon's (Ben McKenzie) ex-fiancée landed herself in Arkham Asylum after her attack on Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) in the season one finale, and it seems like she's going to do pretty well for herself, especially with friends like Jerome and "Baldy."

As Richards revealed during Gotham's San Diego Comic-Con panel, season two will see Barbara finally getting to be herself, or "the most Barbara she's ever been."

"She's joyous in her darkness," Richards said. "That was always right at the center of her."

Meanwhile, Monaghan's Joker-ish teases just keep getting better, and it truly seems like this season—deemed "Gotham: Rise of the Villains"—is going to be a whole lot of fun.

Even just the Arkham uniforms look pretty cool, and are totally throwing a wrench into our Halloween costume planning. We can already see Barbara's oddly stylish prison-striped dress for sale at Hot Topic, and we can predict what a whole lot of people will be wearing to Comic-Con next year—and basically what we're saying is that we can see the future and we're predicting that Gotham's stint in Arkham is going to be a pretty good time!

Gotham's second season premieres Monday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. on Fox.
