The music video for Tyga's "Stimulated," which doubled as an official confirmation that he and Kylie are a couple-couple upon its release Monday, couldn't help but remind us of another PDA-packed music video collaboration in the fam, namely Kanye West's much-parodied "Bound 2" co-starring then-fiancée Kim.
While "Bound 2" had its own inimitable charms, there are striking similarities between the two: Both open with sweeping panoramic views, both feature a rapper and his Keeping Up With the Kardashians-star significant other packing on the PDA, both contain one memorable moment after another and each song is a veritable raunchfest.
There is one major difference, however: Kimye's antics are so suggestive as to be in on the joke, while Tyga and Kylie, despite the NC-17 lyrics bumping in the background, are charmingly tender with one another, their behavior G-rated in comparison to the older couple's let's-shock-the-world motorcycle ride.
But still, so many similarities! Here are seven times Kylie and Tyga in "Stimulated" were tween-friendly Kimye in "Bound 2":
1. The Silhouette: Kylie's fully clothed and Kim is more on the buck-naked side, but each one is dramatically enters the scene from the shadows.
2. The Gaze: The camera lingers lovingly on the object of the rapper's affection.
3. The Angst: Oh, so much angst.
4. The Almost-Kiss: What's hotter than a steamy makeout sesh? The slow-mo, almost-kiss of course!
5. I've Got Your Back: We're looking into our future together, babe.
6. Sweet Nothings: In a similar vein as the almost-kiss, the ear nibble also signifies utmost intimacy.
7. Holding On for Dear Life: Who needs a motorcycle when you can just carry your girl around yourself?! But both options are good for general closeness.
