DWTS is going to be a little less goofy in season 21.

While Kaitlyn Bristowe was in talks to join the cast of Dancing With the Stars' upcoming season, a source exclusively reveals to E! News that the Bachelorette, who is engaged to winner Shawn Booth, will not be competing on the ABC reality hit when it premieres on Sept. 14.

"The timing isn't right," our source explains, " but she loves the show and hopes to keep the door open for another season down the road." (ABC does not comment on casting rumors.)

Fingers crossed we'll eventually get to see Kaitlyn show off her moves in a later season as she's been a dancer her entire life!

When we spoke with Kaitlyn and Shawn after the finale, the Canadian beauty told us she was definitely open to joining DWTS. In fact, Kaitlyn was so confident in her ballroom dancing abilities, she told us, "I feel like I'd win. Am I jinxing myself by saying that? I might win." She added, "I think it would be fun." And Shawn was supportive of Kaitlyn joining the show, telling us, "That'd be amazing to watch!"

While Kaitlyn isn't going to be competing for the mirrorball trophy this season, one of her former suitors might be polishing off his dancing shoes: Runner-up Nick Viall! "I'm a Nick person," DWTS casting director Deena Katz recently told E! News, with executive producer Rob Wade adding it would be "too much drama" to have both Kaitlyn and Nick on the show when we asked about the chances of that happening at the 2015 Television Critics Association summer press tour,

Nick wouldn't be the first Bachelor Nation alum to compete on the show, should he be offered a coveted slot: Former Bachelors Jake Pavelka, Sean Lowe and Chris Soules have all competed, as well as Trista Sutter and Melissa Rycroft, who actually the All-Stars season.

So far, season 21's line-up of celeb competitors includes Bindi Irwin, the teen daughter of the late Steve Irwin, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, and Victor Espinoza, as well as Paula Deen and Chaka Khan, which E! News exclusively reported.

DWTS will premiere on Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
