New details are emerging in regards to where Rosie O'Donnell's daughter was during her disappearance.

E! News can confirm 17-year-old Chelsea O'Donnell was found at the New Jersey home of 26-year-old Steven Sheerer, who has an arrest record. Police say Sheerer had met Chelsea previously when she was visiting Long Beach Island.

"All of our information is that she was there voluntary," Lt. Keith Germain of the Barnegat Police Department told E! News exclusively. "We don't have anything that indicates that there would be criminal charges at this point."

He added, "It looks like she ran away from up there and came down here and ended up at his residence." Germain could not classify or put a label on their relationship.

Rosie took to Twitter throughout the day Wednesday to reveal new information about the man who was found with her daughter. After discovering Sheerer's past trouble with the law, the comedian couldn't help but speak out.

"No mom is perfect," she tweeted to a follower. "We all do our best."

She added, "When someone u love is drowning in the rapids—u throw everything u can into the water –hoping they will grab on –stay afloat #Believe."

Police have confirmed to E! News that Sheerer had been arrested on multiple offenses since 2012, including driving while intoxicated, heroin possession and disorderly conduct.

In regards to Chelsea's disappearance, police say criminal charges are not warranted at this point. In addition, there was no evidence of drug use or drugs present at the time Chelsea was found.

"Chelsea was very nice and cooperative, but wasn't really talkative," Lt. Germain told E! News. "She didn't give a lot of information as to why she left or on her feelings."

Shortly around midnight Wednesday morning, Chelsea and her mom were able to reunite at the family home.

"The reunion was without incident, there was nothing notable that happened," police shared with E! News. "Rosie was relieved that Chelsea was home and that her welfare was fine."
