Still mad about how Jane the Virgin was snubbed by the Emmys? Don't be, because Gina Rodriguez isn't!

"Tatiana [Maslany] from Orphan Black, that girl is so phenomenally talented. And it took a few seasons for her to get nominated," Rodriguez told E! News at the Crest 3D White Brilliance 2 Step launch event in NYC. "She is my hope, she is my inspiration, she is my empowerment. I'm so proud of her for getting nominated this year. And if I have to wait my turn, I'll wait my turn. It's fine. I just got to go back into this season, work my ass even harder so that eventually they can recognize it as well."

As if we couldn't love Rodriguez enough already, she had to bring Maslany into it as well? Perfection overload.

Rodriguez also couldn't stop gushing about having Britney Spears guest star as herself on the CW telenovela when it returns for its sophomore season this fall.

"I mean, hello, goodbye, she's everything," Rodriguez says. "I cannot wait to be on set with her. The fact that she's engaging with us already, that she's excited to be there, we only want that. We only want people who want to be part of our family. Britney though, I don't want her to be in just one episode, I want her to be in, like, 10."

When season two finally premieres, Jane is going to be minus one baby bump...and minus one baby as well, since her newborn son was stolen by drug lord Sin Rostro in the final moments of the season one finale.

"Without telling you too much, [showrunner] Jennie [Snyder Urman] is freaking brilliant the way she wraps up storylines and starts new ones very quickly," Rodriguez says of Jane's stolen baby. "You are going to see Jane's fearlessness. You are going to see how strong she is and how much she's going to fight as a mother. But there are a lot of other things that will come into play. So hopefully, baby Matteo won't be gone for too long."

But if/when Jane does get her baby back, what kind of a mother is she going to be?

"She's going to be a protective, present and very textbook mom," Rodriguez says. "She's the mom that read all the books. I'm really excited about talking about motherhood and really preserving your dreams of still working on yourself. Jane is going to go into motherhood and not let go of her dreams as a writer and not let go of her dreams as a woman and wanting to grow."

And motherhood certainly isn't going to get in the way of Jane's love life!

"I'm really excited that Jane's going to get married this season," Rodriguez teases. "I don't know who she's marrying!"

Jane the Virgin season two premieres Monday, Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. on the CW.
