In the midst of all the divorce drama from the past few weeks, we were blessed with the gift of Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's wedding.
Then reports began to surface that Ed Sheeran and Nicole Scherzinger were a new couple, but it turns out that isn't the case. The former Pussycat Dolls member and "Thinking Out Loud" singer are not dating. British tabloid The Sun claimed that they got together in recent months going on low-key dates to quiet bars, but a rep for Scherzinger clarified to the publication that there has been nothing romantic about the two performers' get-togethers.
Lewis Hamilton's ex-girlfriend and Sheeran have been friends for quite some time, attending each other's performances and even dedicating songs to one another; however, it seems the redheaded crooner and the brunette beauty are keeping things platonic. For now, any chance of them getting together will be kept to Instagram posts only, where they pose together for goofy pics.
Scherzinger and Hamilton dated on and off for several years beginning in 2007, but their latest breakup, which occurred earlier this year left her "heartbroken and devastated," a source told The Daily Mail at the time. It seems that Scherzinger was always interested in marrying the Formula One race car driver, but Hamilton wasn't ready, according to The Sun.
He later admitted to E! News that he was "feeling pressure" from family members to tie the knot with the singer. "But Nicole's massively focused on her work the same as I am," he explained. "We're happy just way we are."
Unfortunately, they weren't.
As for Sheeran, he has been linked to British crooner Ellie Goulding in the past, but she said they were never an item despite rumors that they were in a relationship. "I did go on a few dates with Niall [Horan] but I was never in a relationship with Ed," the "Burn" singer said in Elle U.K.'s Body Confidence issue.
"I have absolutely no idea where that came from and why it was turned into such a big thing. I find it so frustrating that female musicians are constantly defined by the men they have or haven't dated."
E! News has reached out to reps for both Sheeran and Scherzinger for comment.
