Ryan Adams just earned himself a place in Taylor Swift's squad!

The 40-year-old rock singer-songwriter has begun covering her 1989 album. No, really. "Starbucks lovers" and all. In the style of iconic band The Smiths.

He announced the news on Twitter and Instagram late on Wednesday.

"Taylor Swift 1989 full album cover night," he wrote.

Swift, 25, freaked out.

"is this true???????" she tweeted early on Thursday. "I WILL PASS OUT."

"Yes," Adams replied. "Just finished 'Style.' Badass tunes, Taylor. : ) We're sandblasting them and they're holding steady."

"Cool," he said. "I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight or ever again and I'm going to celebrate today every year as a holiday. I'M CALM."

So...will we be seeing Adams onstage during Swift's 1989 tour anytime soon?

Meanwhile, Adams posted several photos and videos of himself and his band in the studio, recording 1989 songs...
