Just one day after Cara Delevingne's cringe-worthy interview went viral, the ladies of The View weighed in on the awkward moment watched round the Internet.
"Yes, girl, yes!" Raven-Symoné cheered after a clip of the model-turned-actress' interview with Good Day Sacramento was played on the ABC morning show. "You know what she was made at? She was mad she had to sit through 13 to 300 different people getting asked the same question over and over again."
The 22-year-old Delevingne was chatting with the morning show via satellite to promote her new movie Paper Towns when the interview took a disastrous turn and was abruptly cut short after the anchors accused her of being "irritated" and told her to go "take a nap."
Delevingne has since responded to the accusations that she was being rude on Twitter, writing, "Some people just don't understand sarcasm or the British sense of humour."
She also retweeted one fan who noted that "you get @caradelevingne to give "better answers" in this interview by asking better questions/saying her name right" as well as actor Zach Braff's response to her initial tweet which read, "or how it's condescending to ask an actress if she's read the book."
Still, the ladies of The View had trouble finding common ground as they debated the heated topic.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Nicolle Wallace chimed in. "When you're a famous movie star and you get to go on a local news show to promote a movie that people are paying $18 to go watch, you don't get to act like a bitch."
Ouch!
"I don't know, you have to understand that every person has their day," Symoné countered. "You don't know if she's on her period..."
"Then cancel the interview," Wallace replied, clearly heated. "I mean Condoleezza Rice ran the world and she's a woman but yes, if you're an actress and you're cranky, cancel the interview."
Symoné then noted that "you can't cancel the interview," at which point Whoopi Goldberg emphatically replied, "Then suck it up."
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. You know, she's not a famous actress. She's a newbie," Goldberg continued. "She's not famous—no, honey, I'm famous," she added pointing at herself and drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
Rosie Perez took Goldberg's side on the matter and agreed when she said it's a "privilege to do what we do."
"Here's another point, because you're in a hot movie, and it's a great success," the White Men Can't Jump star said. "But one day, you're going to need Good Morning, Sacramento. You're going the need them because there are people in Sacramento that will go watch your film. And you never know, who you meet on the way up are the same people you're going to meet on the way down.
"I've been tired, I've been exhausted...when I first started out, I was 'Brooklyn'..." she continued. "And the thing is, like Whoopi is saying, I had to be checked. And I was checked and my attitude was checked and I corrected it, because you know what? I am appreciative of the fact that I get to do this. You do a press conference and you're sitting in a room for like 24 hours and get asked the same damn questions. Suck it up, baby, suck it up!"
