InstagramBindi Irwin said in February that dating was a "long way off," but a touching Instagram post from her boyfriend Thursday proves that dating is happening right now!
In honor of Irwin's 17th birthday Friday, boyfriend Chandler Powell posted a cute photo of the couple posing in front of a lake. The 18-year-old professional wakeboarder's caption is even more wonderful, calling his girlfriend "gorgeous."
"Happy Birthday to this gorgeous girl!" he captioned the pic. "Feel very blessed to have you in my life. Counting down the days until I get to see you again! @bindisueirwin #TotallyGushing #ILoveCamping #ILoveTheOutdoors #ISwamTheCrocPond."
This isn't the first photo of the couple, as Bindi has shared a shot of herself with him on her Instagram before, but it was work related! Now we can look at each photo and say "awww" because they look so happy together!
"Super excited that @chandlerpowell has joined our #WildlifeWarriors team," she wrote. "Our global ambassadors are changing the world and making a huge difference to spread the message of conservation. We must work together to create a beautiful world for the generations to come."
In honor of her own birthday, Steve Irwin's daughter shared a photo of herself with a tortoise and thanked all of her friends and family for the support she has received from them over the years. Now we can assume that Chandler is a part of that group!
"I am so happy with where I am and where I'm headed. I have the most beautiful souls in my life supporting me and helping me to follow my dreams. I love them more than I can ever express in words," she posted. "To my family, friends, and the people who will forever have a place in my heart, thank you for everything. For changing my life and making me the person I am today."
Although she didn't reveal how she would be celebrating her big day, we hope some plans included Chandler! Their relationship seems to be going pretty well, as she told Entertainment Tonight, "There is someone special in my life right now, and I'm really happy with that. Life is wonderful at the moment."
