Country singer Stoney LaRue has been arrested after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with his girlfriend.
According to Oklahoma City police, officers responded to a domestic violence incident Monday morning where they learned the "One Chord Song" crooner and his girlfriend had an argument.
The disagreement began after LaRue and a female friend came home around 4 a.m. and proceeded to make a lot of noise. LaRue's girlfriend couldn't sleep so she decided to get some rest in her car. Once she returned inside the apartment around 7 a.m., however, things got ugly.
Police said she was using a hairdryer when LaRue woke up and confronted her about the noise. He tried to grab the hairdryer before throwing various items including a makeup bag and toiletries.
When his girlfriend bent over, LaRue allegedly pushed her from behind causing her to roll head-first down the stairs. She called authorities who discovered multiple scrapes and scratches to her back and legs.
On Tuesday morning, LaRue retweeted two messages on Twitter from a woman who is believed to be his girlfriend. Amanda Winsworth wrote, "The happenings of this incident have been blown out of proportion by the media. I was never struck by my boyfriend @StoneyLaRue."
She added, "Please respect our privacy while we fix this matter. @StoneyLarue."
LaRue was in Oklahoma City over the weekend to perform a concert at the Zoo Amphitheatre.
