Who needs flowers or champagne when you can celebrate a milestone with secretly recorded footage of your costar?!

That's clearly the thought that went through Jussie Smollett's head when his Empire costar Taraji P. Henson received her first ever Emmy nomination earlier this morning, officially making history along with How To Get Away With Murder's Viola Davis. (This is the first time that two black women have earned an Emmy nomination in the same year for Outstanding Lead Actress In a Drama Series...and it's about time!)

So Smollett took to his Instagram to celebrate Henson's nomination...with a video he secretly took of Henson on set of the Fox drama, without her realizing it! Yup, she's just minding her own business, snoozing, resting her eyes in between takes, totally unaware that Smollett is recording her every move. LOL!

It's so random, and Henson's reaction at the end of the video when she realizes that Smollett is recording her is just priceless. They really do act like mother and son! Watch the full Instagram video above now, and try not to laugh too hard.

At least Smollett's Instagram video didn't drop any F-bombs...unlike Empire creator Lee Daniels, who decided to post an unfiltered, profane video to his Instagram after Empire failed to snag an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series. In the video, Daniels first asks Smollett what people really want to see, before saying, "Jussie says I have to be politically correct on Instagram." As the duo laugh, Smollett says, "You have to be nice!" And Daniels fires back with, "F--k these motherf--kers!"

Oof, tell us how you really feel about the Emmys, Daniels!

On a more positive note, let's all take another moment to once again congratulate Henson on her nomination. Press play on the video below to check out her reaction to the honor, and find out how she heard the news earlier this morning!
