Disney is ready to open our eyes to a whole new world of Aladdin!

The studio is developing a live-action prequel to the beloved 1992 animated classic, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Tentatively titled Genies, the comedy adventure will reportedly focus on the realm of the Genies and tell how that one Genie ended up enslaved in the lamp.

Although everything is in the early stages, the long-term goal is to turn the project into a movie for everyone to enjoy on the big screen.

For those who sadly missed out on the original Aladdin, we will first try to forgive you. But we can also tease that the original animated feature tells the story of a street urchin who found a mysterious lamp. The fixture would unleash a Genie that grants three wishes.

What comes next is a love interest and a magic carpet ride. Sorry it's vague, but we'd just hate to spoil anything major because it's just that good.

Since the film's release, Aladdin has found great success on Broadway. In addition, a musical spectacular remains a fan-favorite attraction at Disney's California Adventure Park in Anaheim, Calif.

As fans eagerly wait for the next big project, E! News confirmed back in February that Aladdin's Diamond Edition is coming to Blu-ray on October 6.

We'll try our best to wait patiently! But seriously Disney, thank you for this magical news.
