Nicky Hilton stepped out of the Claridge's hotel in London on Friday sporting a floor-sweeping, white lace Valentino haute couture wedding gown featuring a voluminous ball skirt and sheer illusion sleeves. The blushing bride also toted a white bouquet and wore a veil that spanned the length of her dress train. And while the delicate floral lace gown is not quite what we predicted for Hilton, the dress is still a stunning, almost Cinderella-like turn.
The 31-year-old will marry banking heir James Rothschild at Kensington Palace (yup, the place that Kate Middleton, Prince William and their children call home) in what is sure to be a fairy tale ceremony. Nicky's dress even reminds us of the breathtaking Alexander McQueen gown that the Duchess of Cambridge wore on her wedding day in April 2011.
The couple, who met at Petra Ecclestone and James Stunt's Italian wedding ceremony in 2011, became engaged in August 2014. And of course we knew that Nicky's dress would be a piece of pure glamour, if her massive engagement diamond had anything to say about it.
"It was an no-brainer for me," Nicky told Avenue Magazine of her romantic Valentino confection in May. "I've wanted this designer to design my wedding dress since I was a little girl, so the fact that it's happening and they're making me a custom couture dress is just very exciting. I was shown about 15 sketches and then came back for another round, and we narrowed it down to three and then clicked in on the one." (We'd say she certainly made the right choice!)
Older sister Paris Hilton (who is serving as Nicky's maid of honor) and mom Kathy Hilton were spotted leaving the hotel as well, both donning pale sky blue Dennis Basso dresses that, well, help bring the fairy tale to life.
It's been a whirlwind pre-wedding week for Hilton, who's been attending shows at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week (following a stateside bachelorette party in Miami and bridal shower in Los Angeles) and prepping for her weekend nuptials.
The style maven has been wearing all white for her various outings (naturally), attending the Versace show on July 5 in a sexy white mini featuring sheer illusion panels (making for quite the rear view) and kitschy holes. Later that week, she was spotted leaving her hotel in another all-white confection, this time a lacy fit-and-flare design with lilac floral detailing.
Yesterday, Nicky got some retail therapy before her big day wearing a long-sleeve shift dress with oversized sunnies and Christian Louboutin heels. And her rehearsal dinner look was a stunner too: The star headed out for the fête with Rothschild in London sporting a high-neck white mini with leg-lengthening nude pumps.
A sketch of the head-turning gown was posted to Valentino's Instagram after the wedding, revealing that the dress features three different tones of ivory and silver guipure with intricate crystal embellishments. And that train? It's nearly 10 feet.
