We've gotten a glimpse into the beginning of Princess Charlotte's christening July 5, but now we have the official portraits—and they're gorgeous!
Shot by Mario Testino, the photos show the royal family looking stunning. Prince George is adorable as his dad, Prince William, carries him in a photo shot in a black and white. Both are sporting ear-to ear grins, and they couldn't be cuter! Another picture gives an up-close view of the gorgeous princess being held by her mom, Kate Middleton. Both look radiant as they match in cream-colored clothing—although the baby's christening gown (which was also worn by George) is more ornate than Kate's classic look.
It looks like it turned out to be a gorgeous day, as Kate, William, Charlotte and George posed on the lawn outside of the church, where the bright sky lights them up. The famed Vogue photographer certainly has a wonderful eye—no wonder they keep selecting him to take official portraits! George, of course, continues to be a silly little boy as he pulls on his hair while making a confused face at the camera. Charlotte looks angelic as she gazes into the lens.
Lastly, of course, is the group photo with Queen Elizabeth II, husband Prince Philip, Prince Charles, wife Camilla Parker Bowles and the Middleton family. As previously reported, Charlotte's chosen five godparents are an eclectic group, made up of Hon. Laura Fellowes, Adam Middleton, James Meade, Sophie Carter and Thomas van Straubenzee. Unfortunately, Prince Harry was unable to attend as he had a scheduled charity trip to Africa.
The christening took place in St. Mary Magdalene Church, a 16th-century chapel long frequented by the royal family, in Sandringham, Norfolk. William's late mother Princess Diana was christened there in 1961. The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby, baptized Charlotte. He had also carried out George's baptism. The service lasted about an hour.
