Isaac Brekken/WireImageKatie Rees, maybe better known as former Miss Nevada USA who was stripped of her crown in 2006 after nude photos surfaced, is in new legal hot water.
Katherine Nicole Rees, 30, has now been charged with possessing and selling meth, according to court documents obtained by E! News. Most of her previously legal troubles entail traffic violations, which she had to pay fines for. But the Justice Court filed more serious charges against her Monday, totaling four counts: two counts of conspiracy to violate uniform controlled substances, one count of sale of controlled substance and one count of trafficking in controlled substance.
The court issued a warrant for Rees Wednesday, but her attorney has filed a motion to have it quashed. A court date has been set for July 13. In the meantime, the warrant remains outstanding.
"We will review the evidence diligently and respond accordingly," her attorney, Adam Wax, told E! News in a statement.
This isn't the former pageant star's first run in with drugs. In 2009 Australian customs officials discovered Rees' luggage tested positive for cocaine after being swabbed. She vehemently denied drug use on the show, and no charges were filed against her from the incident.
But in 2012 that was proven to be false, as she pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor drug charge. She was sentenced to attend drug counseling. "I don't do drugs," Rees insisted on the show at the time. "I don't use cocaine. I don't use any kind of pill, no kind of Xanax, no anything. I don't use anything."
She was released that time without being charged.
