Josh Hartnett is going to be a dad!

The 36-year-old Penny DreadfulPearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down star's girlfriend, British actress Tamsin Egerton, is pregnant with their first child, the actor's rep told E! News.

The two played love interests in the romance-adventure film The Lovers, which was released in February and was filmed in 2010 and 2011. Hartnett and Egerton sparked romance rumors in 2012 and stepped out as a couple a year later.

While they have been spotted out together several times over the years, they have largely kept their love life under wraps.

"I purposefully didn't want people to know too much about my personal life because I think a lot of people give it away for free," Hartnett told USA Today in May. "I think if you spend too much time courting people's attention into your personal life, you lose your ownership of it. That's why I make sure my life is my own. I was not a dumb kid. I was a little bit wary of this business. I saw what it could do to people pretty quickly."

In a 2014 interview with Elle magazine, Hartnett, who once dated Lost In Translation co-star Scarlett Johansson, talked about getting romantically involved with fellow cast members.

"I don't recommend it to young actors," he said. "You can make a lot of enemies in the business that way. But when you work with somebody every day, it's like trial dating. You develop a fantasy about them."

But earlier this year, he expressed a more positive view about it, in an interview with Playboy.

"Everybody makes mistakes dating people they work with," he said. "They're whom I'm attracted to because I share experiences with them and understand a bit about what they are and what they do. If I were able to go back in time, I don't know if I could have done anything any different."

He also appeared to have babies on the brain at the time.

When asked about acquiring wealth, Hartnett told Playboy, "If we could just help one another and express ourselves, we'd all be happy. But then I think, 'Oh s--t, there are bills to be paid, and I'd have to get a car that's safe for my kid.' I don't have a kid yet, but that's the idea coming into my head these days."
