As promised, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are remaining united in spirit for the kids.
The whole family is at their home in the Bahamas together, E! News confirmed Thursday. It would seem that the parents of three probably had planned this getaway all along, wanting to find a private spot to be with their daughters Violet and Seraphina and son Samuel while news of their divorce continued to make headlines.
Affleck and Garner announced on Tuesday that they were ending their 10-year marriage. Sources told E! News that they had actually been separated for about 10 months and that, moving forward, Affleck will continue living at their Brentwood property, but in a separate house from his soon-to-be ex-wife.
We're hearing that the Daredevil co-stars are planning on settling their split through mediation so that they don't have to go to court.
"We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time," they said in revealing their plans to divorce.
A source told Us Weekly, which was first with the Bahamas news, that the family has been going to this particular "private and special location" for years. Affleck will have to head back to California at least by next weekend, however, as he's scheduled to appear at Comic-Con in San Diego with his Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice co-stars.
Meanwhile, the jaunt to the Bahamas amid the bombshell news can't help but remind us of another pair of exes that remain very much devoted albeit consciously uncoupled—Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin similarly whisked Apple and Moses away after making their joint announcement as well in early 2014.
More than a year later, Paltrow and Martin seem to still be close friends and equally involved parents, with Gwyneth giving Chris a tender Father's Day shout-out. So we can only hope that, a year from now, Affleck, Garner and their kids are exactly where they need to be.
