Sweet Jesus!

Katy Perry has found herself in the middle of a legal battle over the sale of a historic L.A. convent. According to legal docs obtained by E! News, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Los Angeles Jose Gomez is fighting with several elderly Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary over the pending sale of their villa-style Retreat House in Los Feliz.

The nuns claim they own the property and want to sell it to restaurateur Dana Hollister for $15.5. However, Gomez also claims legal ownership of the convent and hopes to sell it to Perry for $14.5 so she can reportedly make it her home. Gomez filed legal papers this month against Hollister claiming the nuns don't have the right to sell without his permission.

Additionally, the Archbishop would like to void the sale of the convent to Hollister and prevent her from trespassing on the property.

According to the L.A. Times, the 30-year-old pop star recently visited the convent to make nice with the nuns, but her efforts didn't work. The nuns did their research on Perry and apparently didn't like what they found.

"Well, I found Katy Perry and I found her videos and…if it's all right to say, I wasn't happy with any of it," Sister Rita told the L.A. Times.

"We have given many years to this archdiocese and we have served them well," Sister Rita added. "For the archdiocese to...put us under a bus and run over us, I'm sorry, it was just too much for me."
