The theme of Teen Beach Movie 2: Everything is bigger!

In 2013's Teen Beach Movie, Brady (Ross Lynch) and Mac (Maia Mitchell) found themselves transported into their favorite '60s beach movie, Wet Side Story. But tonight at 8 p.m. on Disney Channel, their favorite characters-turned-BFFs Tanner (Garret Clayton) and Lela (Grace Phipps) head to the future, leading to an epic "fusion" of retro and modern. It's the perfect treat that the entire family can enjoy, and sing along to, for the rest of the summer.

"The second one is louder, bigger, faster, it's more exciting," Garrett Clayton told E! News at the premiere of the highly anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie. "The numbers are more eclectic and there's many more styles of music. It's classic, pop and rock. We're all really proud of it."

And Maia Mitchell said she loved blending two different genres this time around, telling us, "I love ‘60s styles. That genre of film is one of my favorites, so what's fun about this sequel is it's really a fusion of the ‘60s styles and musical influences with modern pop and musical comedy and some more modern styles."

But it's not all about the music and dancing as fans invested in Brady and Mack's relationship will not be disappointed by the sequel, as Ross Lynch teased. "You see more of my character. This time it's more about the relationship about Mack and Brady and the importance of friendship."

Of course, we can't forget about the amazing '60s fashion that's featured throughout the film, which sadly, the cast wasn't allowed to keep after the cameras stopped rolling.

"They don't let us keep anything, isn't that crazy?" Mitchell said. "We were doing promos like a year after we had shot the first time, and I was putting myself shoes on, and literally I opened the shoe box and sand poured out of my shoes from Puerto Rico! So they keep thinks under lock."
