Dustin Diamond has been sentenced to four months in jail and 15 months of probation after being convicted on two misdemeanor counts following a bar fight on Christmas in Wisconsin.

The 38-year-old Saved by the Bell alum was cleared of a felony charge last month after a three-day trial, but the jury found him guilty of carrying a concealed weapon. Diamond was convicted for stabbing 25-year-old Casey Smett at The Grand Avenue Saloon after his fiancée, Amanda Schutz, got into an altercation with a woman who was allegedly harassing her and the actor.

Schutz was found guilty of disorderly conduct. She faces a maximum of 90 days in prison.

During the sentencing, Diamond reportedly apologized to Judge Paul Malloy for his behavior, saying that a "night of celebrating and peace" turned into a night he would always regret.

At the time of the trial, Diamond testified that he "didn't swing or thrust at anybody" with the knife he carried. "It was for display purposes only and it had the desired effect," the actor testified. "I said, ‘Let go' and they did, immediately."

He also used a whiteboard throughout his testimony to give a better visual of what happened. The actor also said that he didn't realize how badly Schutz was hurt until after the left the bar, when he was able to get a closer look at her.

"Her face was pouring blood," the actor testified. "She was just going, ‘Oh my God, oh my God,' and holding her face…and trying to drive with her free hand."

Following today's sentencing, Diamond, appearing teary-eyed, left the courtroom without commenting.

Since his role as Screech, Diamond has found himself in legal trouble time and time again. He was sued multiple times for delinquent taxes and had to go through foreclosure proceedings for missing mortgage payments.
