Welcome to Pretty Lake, home of your latest Netflix obsession.

Hot on the heels of release of Orange Is the New Black's highly anticipated third season, Netflix already has the remedy for your withdrawal symptoms at the ready: Between, its dark and edgy new series centering on a town where a deadly virus basically kills anyone over the age of 22. (So basically, it's the CW's dream-world. We jest, we jest!) While that premise should be enough to hook you, we bet you'll be intrigued to find out it'll be the first series to stream weekly on Netflix, meaning it's a slow-burn.

Starring in Between? Sam & Cat and iCarly star Jennette McCurdy, who takes on her most adult role yet, as the minister's pregnant teen daughter, and we have your exclusive inside look at the bold yet bleak new drama in the video above, with insight straight from its gorgeous leading lady...

Jennette McCurdy, Between, Netflix *EMBARGOED UNTIL (6/15)*

Eric Ray Davidson/Netflix

"I'm a huge Netflix fan and when they told me about this show, I was excited because I could see how character-driven it could really be," McCurdy says in the clip above. "It really has a voice of its own and to me, that's great television."

The characters, of course, are mostly all under the age of 22, so it's "kids surviving on their own," Jesse Carere explains. As Kyle Mac puts it, "It's a little bit of Lord of the Flies taking place." Cut to a shocking shot of all the kids burning hundreds of dead bodies.

But Carere warns, "it gets darker and darker as the show progresses." Just how much darker can you go than that? Press play on the video above to find out.

New episodes of Between premiere on Netflix every Thursday at 8 p.m.
