Guy Ritchie, the action connoisseur behind Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and the Sherlock Holmes movies, is directing the film adaptation of the 1960's television show The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

The Cold War spy thriller stars Man of Steel's Henry Cavill and The Social Network's Armie Hammer

The new trailer is intense, darkly humorous and smart, or in other words, everything you'd expect from a Guy Ritchie movie.

Cavill, who plays a CIA operative, and Hammer, who plays a KGB agent, put aside their differences to save the day from an evil criminal organization.

The British Cavill shows off his acting chops with an accent as American as they come, and the American Hammer speaks like he was a Soviet Union native.

The original television series was pretty campy, and judging from this trailer the movie retains that spirit to a degree but approaches the material with a more serious yet still funny tone.

We're all super excited for this one!

The film hits theaters Aug. 14th and also features Hugh Grant in a supporting role and Elizabeth Debicki as the femme fatale.
