Prince Carl-Philip, Duke of Värmland, will be exchanging vows with his girlfriend of five years, Sofia Hellqvist.
The undoubtedly lavish affair will host many of European's finest, including the crème de la crème of members of several royal families far and wide, and will be the talk of the Swedish town for weeks (maybe years!) to come.
So just who are the good-looking soon-to-be husband and wife? Well, here are five fast facts to keep you in the know for any water cooler convo.
1. He's a Babe: There's really not much to explain here, you guys. You feel those two things below your hairline? Yeah. Open those. Stare at the pics. Check out that perfect beard game, those smoldering brown eyes, that tan. You get it.
2. She's Also a Babe: Listen, fair is fair, the prince's leading lady is pretty smokin' herself and first began her career flaunting her killer figure in barely there bikinis.
3. She's, Ahem, Photogenic: We may have left something out about the aforementioned modeling career. It turns out that the Miss Slitz 2004 beauty landed in pretty hot water after posing for photos in nothing but her birthday suit, oh, and a boa constrictor. While she didn't break any rules, the Swedish monarchy was reportedly not too pleased with the model-turned-reality star's less-than-prim-and-proper antics.
4. Wild Summer: The 30-year-old stunner may have had a fairly sordid past, but her man hasn't been without his wilder moments either. Back in 2012, the only son of the King and Queen of Sweden was assaulted in an attack as he left a Cannes nightclub in the wee hours. An eyewitness filmed the entire brawl on a cellphone, which showed the prince in the midst of the alcohol-fueled skirmish.
5. The Makings of a Princess: From her modest early days in a small town outside of Stockholm, to New York City to study business development and accounting, to the life of a successful model and now…to the castle! Hellqvist has major royal shoes to fill, and similar to Kate Middleton, grew up pretty removed from the local hoity toity glitterati. Dreams do come true!
