Well, it looks like former One Direction member Zayn Malik has taken that advice pretty literally with his new lime green hair color.
Yep, that's right: lime green. The hunky singer swapped his luscious brown locks for a funky buzz cut that was recently debuted on fiancée Perrie Edwards' Instagram. "#GreenHairDontCare," the Little Mix singer captioned the pic as she cozied up next to her man.
Malik rocked a black bomber jacket and edgy nose piercing (another new addition since leaving 1D) and Edwards looked comfy in a chunky blue sweater made extra chic by her curled blond tresses.
Malik has always rocked bad boy sex appeal, but it seems since leaving the band in March after five years of multi-platinum success, he's been able to really experiment with new styles outside his comfort zone.
When Malik left to pursue life as a, "normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight," there was a ton of speculation from die hard Directioners regarding the future of more music from remaining foursome Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson. The pop heartthrobs, however, have since squashed those rumors and are currently selling out arenas on their global On the Road Again tour.
As for reports suggesting unofficial front man Styles would be flying solo with a new album next year, do not fear!
Reps for the star told the U.K.'s Mirror, "It's complete rubbish and fabrication. Harry isn't recording a solo album—he is [in] the studio recording for the new 1D album."
Thank goodness. Our hearts could absolutely not handle another 1D shake up.
