Chris Martin showed his support for Joe Biden as the Vice President laid his son Beau Biden to rest Saturday afternoon in Delaware.

Close to 1,000 mourners inside St. Anthony of Padau Catholic Church enjoyed a performance from the Coldplay frontman who delivered an acoustic version of "Til Kingdom Come."

"For you, I'd wait ‘til kingdom come," he sang in front of guests including Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, President Barack Obama and his family. "Until my days, my days are done."

According to Delaware Online, Martin heard about Beau's love and appreciation for Coldplay music. As a result, he volunteered to fly in and sing for the emotional memorial.

The ceremony, which was broadcast live on several cable news networks including MSNBC, also featured a moving eulogy from President Obama.

"Beau was an original. He was a good man. A man of character. A man who loved deeply, and was loved in return," he shared from the altar. "We are here to grieve with you, but more importantly, we are here because we love you."

He added, "Joe, you are my brother. I'm grateful every single day that you've got that big heart, and a big soul."

Beau passed away May 30 after a battle with brain cancer. At the time of his death, he was surrounded by his family that included his wife and two children.

The 46-year-old was attorney general of Delaware from 2007 to 2015 and was a major in the Delaware National Guard where he earned the Bronze Star. Last year, he said he planned to run for governor in 2016. Obama would later joke that he did more in 46 years than what most people couldn't do in 146.

"He learned how to make everybody else feel like we matter—because his dad taught him that everybody matters," Obama shared Saturday. "That's who Beau was. Someone who cared. Someone who charmed you, and disarmed you, and put you at ease."

Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to the Biden family.
