XactpiX/SplashPerhaps Joe Jonas has managed to steer clear of the friend zone, after all?
Shortly after learning that the singer and supermodel Gigi Hadid were spotted hanging out together again during an outing in Toronto Wednesday night, E! News learns that these two may be taking things up a notch and entering romantic territory. But they're taking it slow.
"Gigi and Joe are hanging out again romantically," a source tells E! News. "They are taking things light and just enjoying each others' friendship. Gigi feels very comfortable with Joe and it's very easy to talk about everything that's going on in her life with him. He understands where she is at and they are not in any rush."
Although they're not in any rush, these two were also spotted hanging out again earlier this week at Bar PItti in New York (two times in one week and in different countries? Interesting).
The duo arrived around 8 p.m. with three other friends, two women and Lewis Hamilton, an eyewitness tells E! News.
"At first, Gigi was sitting in the corner farther away from Joe. Then she asked one of her friends if they would switch seats so she could sit across from Joe and be closer to him," the source explains.
"They were there for almost two hours," the insider added, noting that Gigi went bare-faced for the outing and "still looked amazing." (But, of course.)
"When they were done, Gigi and Joe got up and left by themselves. There wasn't any PDA or hand-holding, but you could tell they were together. They exited on their own."
Gigi, who amiably split up from Cody Simpson (again) just last month, and Joe, who broke up with model Blanda Eggenschwiler last summer, have been photographed together more recently, and romance rumors have plagued these two since Gigi and Cody broke up for the first time in May 2014 (they got back together in November and have since called it quits again).
But as Gigi told E! News exclusively at the time, Joe is just "a really good friend of mine."
As for those rumors that there could be something more building up between them? "It's just really hilarious to us," Gigi said at the time. "We will read it and we will be like, 'Oh, we're dating. Oh cool.' We just laugh it off. It's funny for us."
