It's Channing Tatum like you've never seen him before!
The actor is teaming up with charity fundraising platform Omaze to offer one lucky fan and a friend the chance to attend the premiere and after-party for Magic Mike XXL. All it takes is $10 to enter the raffle! "To give you a little preview, we've gathered an unsuspecting group of Magic Mike fans and we're going to show them the movie in 3D," Tatum says in the video. "Now, to give the fans the best show possible, I'm gonna go undercover and make sure that that happens."
Thanks to prosthetics, makeup and a wig, Tatum morphed into his character, Scott Hasley, who works for Harley Marketing Solutions. "I'm the most terrifying marketing exec ever," Tatum said with a laugh.
Before the test screening started, audience members met with Scott, who asked them some questions.
"You saw the first one?" Scott asked two friends.
"I did, yeah," one of them said, while the other admitted to seeing "part of it."
"You just fast forwarded right to the dance parts?" Scott asked.
When Scott asked people which "part of the movie would you want to see in 3D," their replies included "the stripping part," "the part where there's pelvic thrusting" and "some full-frontal nudity—for once."
"Would you say that you care about the story?" Scott asked.
"No," a fan replied.
Adopting a Southern drawl, an in-character Tatum told the camera crew, "We're about to go in and we're about to tell them that they're about to get a 3D experience. It can't get any more real than this."
After instructing the audience to put their 3D glasses on, strobe lights flashed and strippers emerged.
As they danced to Flo Rida's "G.D.F.R.," Scott got in on the action and gave one woman a lap dance.
Needless to say, fans were shocked. "I'm just, like, mad at myself that I didn't recognize him. Oh, my God!" one woman said. Another woman added, "I had to fan myself for about 15 minutes. He was so dear. He let me hug him and he was so sweet." Speaking for her friends, one girl said, "We thought he was the weirdest interviewer. We were like, 'Who is this guy? How does he work in marketing?' Then he came out and we were like, 'Oh.'"
Tatum's Omaze raffle will benefit the Runa Foundation, which is sponsoring the creation of the world's first medical and research clinics for Amazonian plant medicine in Rios Nete, Peru, and Naku, Ecuador.
