South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham made an exciting announcement this morning: that he's running for president in the 2016 election!

The politician returned to his hometown to break the news and told reporters that he was inspired to run for office partly due to his increasing fear that the world is "falling apart."

The unmarried 59-year-old will run on a platform focused on the idea that "security is strength."

Graham was first elected to the Senate in 2002 after serving eight years in the House of Representatives.

He's just the latest contender to announce his candidacy for the upcoming presidential election, including fellow Republicans Governor Jeb Bush, Senator Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, Governor Scott Walker, and Mike Huckabee.

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton, Rand Paul, Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina have all also announced that they're presidential hopefuls.

Shortly after revealing that she was in the running, Fiorina slammed skeptics (and Clinton) over her presidential bid.

"Like Hillary Clinton, I too have travelled hundreds of thousands of miles around the globe," she said on ABC's Good Morning America. "But unlike her, I have actually accomplished something. Mrs. Clinton, flying is an activity, not an accomplishment."
