Morning Piss: Fornication? Bad. Mutilation? Fine!

Kevin Smith's new movie hurt or helped by trailer ban?

Here we go again. And this one's so funny, it really is tough to be pissed, but I'll manage. As I'm sure you're aware, the trailer to Kevin Smith's subversively clever new flick, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, has been banned by the movie authorities who like to keep our thoughts clean.

These morals police do prefer our brains clear of things smutty, but heaped with all things bloody and menacing. For ince, the trailer to Saw V, just a little number about how imaginatively you can slow-kill helpless victims, gets the A-OK.

But a funny, right-on trailer that has Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks talking about the challenges any novice pornographer might face is naturally verboten, says the establishment otherwise known as the Motion Picture Association of America. Uh, listen, MPAA, maybe your warped and offensive view on what's OK (violent murder) in America and what isn't (funny sex conversation) is what needs to be banned. Anybody agree?
