Tess Holliday is quickly becoming a household name, and for good reason.

The plus-size model has been shifting the modeling industry's beauty standards since signing with a major agency back in January, and now, she's landed her very first magazine cover.

"My phone still hasn't stopped ringing," the size 22 beauty shared with People. "It's good, but it's a lot!"

The Mississippi native is already the face of major campaigns with Benefit Cosmetics and Torrid and her career shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

"I just got  back from London three weeks ago. I'm going to New York this week, then next week I'm going to Montreal and New York again. Then I go to Seattle, New Orleans and Vegas after that, all for work!"

Holliday adds that while she may seem like an overnight success story, she's actually been trying to break into the modeling world for well over a decade.

"Nobody was interested. I got one call back and they said, 'Look, you have a pretty face, but you're too short and you're too big.'"

She also opened up about the bullying she faced in school as a teenager, telling the mag, "I was getting shoved into lockers. I was being called names. I was getting death threats at my house. It was awful."

But the 29-year-old stunner says despite the hurdles she's faced, she knows one of the secrets to success is to stay strong.

"I just knew that I could do it. I wasn't the best [model], and I still am not the best. The key to it is just doing it."
