It may not be the Emmys, but television's upfronts include as many star-studded appearances and eye-catching fashion and beauty looks as any awards show red carpet. For the layman, an upfront is held by a major network to present its standout programs (and its casts) to the press and advertisers. It's a showcase of sorts, featuring all your favorite characters.

Now the upfronts are mostly attended by industry insiders, but celebrity makeup maven and E! Style Collective member Tina Turnbow is here to give us exclusive access to the affair. Here, she shows us how she preps Grey's Anatomy star Jessica Capshaw, who plays the kind-hearted, indomitable Dr. Arizona Robbins.

DAY 1: May 11 upfronts red carpet
Prepping for an Entertainment Weekly party, Tina creates a bronze smoky eye on Jessica to complement her coral dress.

"Just before getting dressed, Jessica's checking out her bronzy eye with the view of Central Park as the backdrop," the makeup guru noted.

DAY 2 AM: Cast photo shoot
Getting ready for a morning photo shoot with cast members. Jessica's glam squad also included hairstylist extraordinaire Owen Gould. While he worked his way around a sparkly headband, Tina created a strong eye. Teamwork!

"Also, Jessica likes to do her own mascara, so after doing her makeup, I stepped aside so she could finish the look," Tina said.

Day 2 PM: May 12 upfronts
To complement Jessica's gorgeous Oscar de la Renta floral frock, Tina went for purple hues for the eyes.

"Jessica held a hand towel under her eye to catch eyeshadow fall-off," Tina added [Editor's note: genius!]. "Now this beauty is ready for the red carpet!"
