When Tina Fey makes a promise, she does everything in her power to make sure she follows through, even if it means losing her clothes in the process.

The 30 Rock alum made her final appearance on The Late Show Thursday night, ending a streak that included more than 20 appearances on his late-night show. With such a long-standing relationship with host David Letterman, she had to send him off with a bang, so she vowed never to wear a "fancy dress" on a talk show again.

"First of all it's very hard work," she explained. "I don't know if you're aware of the contraptions under here. It's almost medical, and I'm terrible in heels."

She added that gets dressed up out of respect for the retiring host but said she can't imagine herself getting all dolled up for anyone else.

"What am I going to do put a dress on for Jimmy [Fallon]? That's creepy. He's like my brother," she noted. "I'm gonna wear like special underwear for James Corden? That's not gonna happen. The next time you'll see me I'll be playing charades in a slanket."

So what was the actress to do with her dress once she finished wearing it? Apparently nothing because she decided to give Letterman the last dress she would ever wear on a talk show!

"This is it," she declared, all while stripping off her dress to reveal nude Spanx, her bra and a black leotard that read "BYE DAVE!" on the front and "#LastDressEver" on the back! She gave the camera a subtle twerk to flaunt her assets. A stunned Letterman couldn't believe it.

"Look it's Tina Fey!" he joked. "I'm told now we have time for another segment."

The 68-year-old host continued to be in shock out of the comedienne's bold decision, ultimately settling on giving her a hug and a kiss on the head.
