McDonald's Has a New Hamburglar! And the Internet Thinks He's a DILF (And/Or Macklemore's Doppelgänger): You Decide!

Just over a year after good 'ole Ronald McDonald joined Twitter, McDonald's has unveiled their revamped "Hamburglar" mascot.

"McDonald's new premium limited time offer, the Sirloin Third Pound Burger, happened to be just enticing enough to bring the Hamburglar back into the public eye and his urge to resurface was unstoppable," McDonald's said in a statement to E! News. "The Hamburglar was last seen on national television in 2002, and has been lying low until the release of the McDonald's new Sirloin Third Pound Burgers."

And clearly, he got a makeover and has been hitting the gym during his time off, as the he's now pictured wearing red kicks, matching leather gloves and a black trench coat.

"These days, he's a suburban dad," McDonald's statement continued. "Previously, the Hamburglar had been living a quiet life until the release of Sirloin Third Pound Burgers, which lured him back into the public eye."

So, not only is the mascot quite the departure from the chubby, animated character we're accustomed to seeing, but he's also a father (yes, this is the message we're sending to kids these days).

The statement concluded: "The Hamburglar makes a cameo in a McDonald's commercial for the new Sirloin Third Pound Burgers. Stay tuned for more – you never know where he may show up."

Translation: we brought in a hot dude to get people buzzing.

Here's proof the Twitterverse is loving it:

We'll admit, he has a serious point.
