Look at any red carpet image of a celeb. If there's one thing they all have in common, it's a strong, defined brow. And guess what? They weren't born that way.
To get a brow look that frames the face and appears to lift the eyes—like Sofía Vergara, Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato and just about every Hollywood star—just three simple makeup steps are needed. Here, E! Style Collective member and makeup artist Karen Gonzalez breaks down the look.
First, Karen used an angled liner brush to apply a touch of brow product to the eyebrows. While Karen opted for a pomade, powder and gel products can be used too.
For most people, it's instinctive to first apply product to the part of brow closest to the nose. But since the freshly-dipped brush contains more product, Gonzalez advised applying product from the arch of brow moving toward the temple in order to create a more natural look.
Next, the makeup pro used remaining product on the brush to fill in the hairs, starting from where the brow begins and continuing on to the arch. She applied less pressure and vertical motions on this section of the brow to keep the look from appearing too painted on.
While most people stop at filling in brows, Karen took one more step to define the look. Using a dome-shaped liner brush, she applied a touch of cream concealer in order to clean up any stray hairs or wayward makeup.
And now we know how these strong-browed celebs do it! With just a few minutes (and a few products), brows go from simply there to standing out as the most distinguished feature on your ready-to-be-photographed face.
