It's here, it's here!

Yes, guys, the 2015 Met Gala is tonight. And yes, we'll be watching for the floor-sweeping ball gowns, couture confections and unexpected beauty looks—but it's always an, er, pleasant surprise when we get a totally candid, unexpected moment that becomes memorable either for notoriety or sheer humor. In honor of tonight's festivities, we've rounded up eight Met Gala moments that we still can't get off our minds—and here's to hoping there are some more to come very shortly.

1. The Trip Heard 'Round The World: Gorgeous ball gown? Check. Balance on a flight of stairs? Er, not so check for Hayden Panettiere. But not to worry, the actress' fall was quite elegant (she and Jennifer Lawrence may be tied for best tumbles in high fashion gowns).

2. Taylor And Selena's Epic Dance Party: The are- or aren't-they frenemies question had been hovering over Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez for quite some time in 2014 (stemming from Selena's reported on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber). So what do they do to bust a rumor? Bust a move at the Met Gala, duh.

"And during.. sometimes you wanna just be you with someone who knows all your secrets," Selena captioned a sweet dancing duo vid, which was soon retweeted by Taylor. An eyewitness told E! News that the pair, along with Karlie Kloss, spent the majority of the night together on the dance floor.

3. J.Law Photobombs SJP: Leave it to Jennifer Lawrence to direct attention away from Sarah Jessica Parker's massive headpiece (and show-stopping Giles Deacon gown) at the 2013 Met Gala. The actress leapt behind SJP—who was primping prettily for the cameras, we might add—and struck a wide open arm pose that made for a, well, very meme-worthy moment.

4. Anne Hathaway Goes Platinum (And Gets Photobombed): This ultra-blond look was one for the books: Anne Hathaway stopped (or at least slowed!) the show at the 2013 Met Gala with a cropped platinum pixie that, really, none of us saw coming (we did figure the actress would be wearing a gorgeous Valentino confection—and she didn't disappoint in her slim-fitting, semi-sheer black gown by the brand). But an even better Anne moment from that night? The epic Joshua Jackson photobomb that gave Jennifer Lawrence a run for her money.

5. Tiger Woods Parties (Too) Hard: According to reports, the golf star got progressively, er, affected as the night of the 2013 Met Gala went on. This, you might remember, was his first official outing with now ex-girlfriend Lindsey Vonn—and the then couple made a striking red carpet appearance at the beginning of the night (Tiger in a well-tailored black tux and Lindsay in a white gown with sheer illusion panels).

An insider told E! News at the time that Tiger and Lindsey were "canoodling in the corner" at a star-studded Met Gala after-party, in what was reportedly a PDA-filled night for the pair. As for those "Tiger Bombed" rumors? Well, it is a party!

6. The Met Gala Streaker: The Met Gala is generally about breathtaking couture (and the red carpet risk-takers, of course). This guy, however, made it about the banana hammock: In 2014, one happy-go-lucky streaker tore off his trench and tried to run onto the red carpet as A-listers were arriving, but was swiftly shut down by police at the event. Long live this neon pink mankini in our memories. (Ergh.)

7. Gwyneth vs. The Met Gala: Gwyneth Paltrow kept it highly real about the fashion industry's most high profile night: "I'm never going again," she told USA Today two years ago, when asked about her experience at the 2013 Met Gala.

"It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all," the Oscar winner added. To date, she's kept her promise!

8. The Elevator Showdown: In 2014, the Internet literally broke for a moment when footage of Beyoncé's younger sister Solange Knowles giving Jay Z a formidable roundhouse kick in the lift at The Standard Hotel began making the media rounds. Honestly, we're still not sure why exactly this all went down: Some speculated it was over Jay's flirty interaction with Rachel Roy. Beyoncé, in a subtext-y, changing her song lyrics way, alluded to the $1 billion that was at stake if the couple broke up. All's well that ends well, though: The siblings-in-law were able to resolve their issues and come together, again, as a family.

(But we'll always have those elevator memes.)
