Bobby Flay doesn't waste any time.

After E! News confirmed Thursday that the Food Network chef had separated from his wife, Law & Order: SVU actress Stephanie March, Flay filed for divorce in New York City Friday. According to court documents, the restaurateur wrote that their 10-year marriage has "broken down irretrievably." Flay, 50, and March, 40, signed a prenuptial agreement before getting married on Feb. 20, 2005.

An insider says Flay is "heartbroken. He still cares about her."

This will be the third divorce for Flay and the first for March.

A source told E! News Thursday that March "tried everything she could do to save the marriage." Fortunately, the exes have no children together.

March, who launched the beauty bar Rouge NY last year, complained to Hamptons Magazine last summer that Flay's schedule made it hard to spend quality time together. "Bobby has sworn to me, like some sort of dating website, we would take walks on the beach, because last year, I said over and over, 'Let's take a walk on the beach,'" the actress revealed. "This time he says he's going to follow through."

Flay, who also owns and operates several restaurants, has been traveling for work more regularly. March, meanwhile, has been staying close to home. "Stephanie is now the primary caregiver for her mom, who was recently diagnosed with cancer and is being treated in New York," a source told E! News.

The chef's rep did not return E! News' immediate request for comment.

March's rep had no comment.

Neither star has commented on the breakup via social media.
