Cookie's Takeover Continues: Taraji P. Henson Will Host Saturday Night Live—Time to Get Excited!

Empire's MVP will have Mumford & Sons as the musical guest

Cookie's takeover continues! Empire's Taraji P. Henson is heading to Saturday Night Live this April for hosting duties. This will be her first time taking the SNL stage. Joining the Oscar nominee as musical guest is Mumford & Sons. This will be the band's second time on the show.

Henson's episode is scheduled to air Apr. 11. But before Cookie Lyon takes on Studio 8H, Michael Keaton will give it a go. The Oscar-nominated star of Birdman will host for the third time on Apr. 4. Carly Rae Jepsen will make her musical guest debut during Keaton's outing as host.

Previous hosts this season include Chris Pratt, Bill Hader, Sarah Silverman, Chris Rock, Amy Adams, Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. Henson is the first black woman to host the show since Kerry Washington had the gig last season. Before Washington it was Maya Rudolph in 2012.

Keatonnext stars in the flicks Spotlight and Minions. Meanwhile, Henson's Empire wrapped up its landmark first season to huge numbers, breaking records in viewership. A second season of the Fox series has already been announced.
