Watch: Eva Mendes Talks Motherhood and Losing Baby Weight

How did Eva Mendes lose the baby weight after giving birth to her and Ryan Gosling's daughter Esmeralda? Not willingly!

"I am not the girl who's like, ‘Oh yeah, I gotta get my workout in today.' That is not me," the gorgeous 41-year-old actress told E! News today while promoting the spring collection of her Eva Mendes Collection for NY & Company. "It's something I accepted quite a few years ago. I was like, ‘OK, this has to be part of my life. Just to stay healthy.' But working out, it's not fun. It's not fun. Do you really look forward to it?"

"My entire day is planned on how can I get out of my workout," Mendes continued. "Like, if I'm even running five minutes late I will text my [my trainer], I'll be like, ‘I'm on the 101, it doesn't look like I'll be getting to you on time.' She's like, ‘That's OK, I'm here...I don't have anything after you.' And I'm like, ‘Ugh! Woman, don't you have other clients? Don't you have to go?'"

Mendes says she even gets 6-month-old Esmeralda involved in her schemes to avoid working out. "Now I use the baby as an excuse and she'll do this, ‘We can just do 20 minutes, it's better than nothing.' And I'm like, 'She's got me good,'" she laughed.

Meanwhile, Mendes says being a new mom hasn't slowed her down one bit. "I feel like even before I was a mom, I'm just like very fast-paced and I wish I wasn't. I wish I was poised, I wish I was calm and relaxed. I'm not. I've come to peace with it, I'm not. I'm a crazy Cuban and I do everything really fast," she admitted.
