Nothing says comfort like taking off your high heels after a long evening!

Shailene Woodley opted to remove her shoes after her Insurgent premiere, walking around with bare feet while bundled up in a grey coat while leaving the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City Monday night. Earlier on the red carpet, however, the actress wore $400 Stuart Weitzman embellished "Queen" pumps to glam up her already va-va-voom black Ralph Lauren Collection halter dress.

The Descendants actress has always been an advocate for functional over fashionable, which is why her stylist, Ilaria Urbanati, told People magazine why she chooses certain designers for her A-list client, from the outfit to the shoes.

"It's all about the brand — Casadei and Kurt Geiger make the most comfortable shoes, so [Shailene] loves them," Urbinati dished. "And I don't usually go for sky high heels — my girls like to be comfortable and don't have a complex about their height."

This isn't Shailene's first time testing the barefoot waters. In fact, she also went shoeless to the 2013 premiere of The Spectacular Now and at the Berlin premiere of Divergent in 2014. She also famously wore Vibram toe shoes to the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.

She has opened up about why she goes back and forth between dressing red-carpet ready and her personal style, telling The Hollywood Reporter, "If I was to show up wearing my five-toe shoes, my Melodia organic leggings and some hippie top, no one is going to take me seriously.

"When I go on a red carpet, I'm Shailene, but I'm also Shailene representing a movie. I'm there for my boss, for my employer, so part of that comes with wearing the uniform," she added.

As for her tuxedo-inspired gown Shailene wore to the premiere Monday, Urbanati told the magazine that the Fault in Our Stars actress "loves anything inspired from men's tailoring."

The 23-year-old hippie-chic brunette also wore a Ralph Lauren Collection gown for the London premiere of Insurgent. But instead of a masculine-styled dress, she opted for an ivory, open-back designed, which her stylist said appealed to the star because of how laid back it appeared.

"She really loved that it was special and elegant, but that on the other hand, it had this T-shirt sleeve," Urbinati said. "There was something that felt so effortless about that, and Shailene is very effortless. She doesn't over think it, she doesn't over fuss. And she wants to feel elegant and comfortable at the same time."
