It seems like nothing can topple the indomitable spirit of Scandal's first lady, except maybe meeting the actual first lady herself.

Bellamy Young, who plays first lady Mellie Grant on ABC's hit show Scandal, was giddy as can be meeting Michelle Obama and snapping a selfie with her on Monday's episode of the The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"Surreal," was how Young summed up her experience of meeting FLOTUS. "How crazy is this show? How great is this show today. Thank you for that," gushed the actress to host Ellen DeGeneres.

Ellen showed the epic selfie of Young, Obama and herself during a sit-down with the Scandal star on her show. The pic was shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show's Instagram. "The First Lady of the US, the First Lady of Scandal and the First Lady to Intercom Her Cat. @MichelleObama @BellamyYoung," read the Insta caption.

However, Young revealed that this wasn't the first time the two have met. She and Tony Goldwyn had a run-in with the Obamas in 2014.

"We met one other time. I met her last year around this time at White House Correspondents dinner...and the first thing she said to me was as we were walking onto the dance, she says, 'Why did you kill your son?' And I was like... and I got really nervous, and I was like oh...ee...ee...ee. And I couldn't really get any words out. So I was glad I got to speak today," revealed Young.

"It's crazy that any of them know who any of us are. That's amazing," said Young about the President Barack Obama and his wife watching Scandal.
