Compromise plays a big role in Fergie and Josh Duhamel's marriage.
The "L.A. LOVE (La La)" singer, 39, and the Battle Creek actor, 42, began dating in September 2004 and got married in January 2009. Early on, the busy stars agreed that they wouldn't go more than two weeks without seeing one another. "We came up with that somewhere in our relationship," the Black Eyed Peas singer revealed to E! News while promoting her third Avon fragrance, Outspoken Fresh by Fergie.
"I can't mark the period," the pop star added, "but somehow two weeks became the staple."
After welcoming son Axl 18 months ago, however, the celebrities were able to take some time off work. "We haven't gone that long in a while, though, because neither of us can be away from each other and Axl. I mean, come on!" Fergie told E!'s Catt Sadler. "So, you know, we're going to face those challenges."
Fergie is recording music for her sophomore album, and her husband is working on a CBS series.
The singer added, "We're gonna have to work it out—figure it out as we go."
One thing the couple doesn't have to figure out is how many siblings to give Axl. "We negotiated early on to have two kids, because he said he wanted five. And I was on the date going, 'OK, well, we could be really good friends, but my limit is two,'" Fergie recalled. "This was date two or three. That was it."
Yes, they really went there that early on. As Fergie explained, "Why waste time?"
