Fleenor/FOXVanessa Williams is making her big The Mindy Project debut as Dr. Phillips, one of Mindy's (Mindy Kaling) medical school professors, and well, she's inspiring a lot of truthfulness from the titular doctor. So basically Mindy is reacting as you would if you bumped into Vanessa Williams on the street.
"You look great," Williams' character says in the exclusive preview below. "Your acne really cleared up."
"It actually migrated to my butt, but thank you," Mindy says.
It seems Dr. Phillips is bored since retiring Mindy has the perfect solution to her problem. But will it go off without a hitch? And can Mindy control herself?
"I had the hots for you too," Mindy says, incorrectly guessing Dr. Phillips' confession.
"Yes. I got all of your letters," Dr. Phillips says.
Oh, Mindy.
Williams will appear in tonight's episode, "Danny Castellano Is My Nutritionist." The Desperate Housewives veteran is just the latest guest star to join The Mindy Project in its third season. Other famous faces to come through include Julia Stiles, Lee Pace, Chrissy Teigen, Ken Burns, Yeardley Smith, Ana Gasteyer, Allison Tolman, Rhea Perlman, Jenny O'Hara, Dan Hedaya, Niecy Nash and John Cho. Stephen Colbert, Laverne Cox and Kris Jenner are all slated to make appearances later this season. Look for Jenner to play herself, Colbert to play a priest and Cox to play Tamra's (Xosha Roquemore) cousin, the famed Sheena.
